Production checklist

The things worth confirming before you route production traffic.

Run through this list before a service carries production traffic. It takes a few minutes and prevents the most common outages.

Account

  • Two-factor authentication enabled for every team member.
  • At least two owners so you're never locked out.
  • Billing contact and payment method confirmed.

Network

  • RPKI ROAs published for every prefix you originate.
  • IRR objects (route/route6) registered and current.
  • BGP sessions configured with sane max-prefix limits.

Delivery

  • DNS records have sensible TTLs and a tested failover plan.
  • CDN cache rules reviewed; purge tested.
  • Monitoring and alerting wired to an on-call path.
